SoundProofing Your house, the Benefits

When choosing your drywall you will need to determine what kind of drywall will fit your needs. Choosing the drywall depending on your needs means that you will need to keep in mind what project you will be focusing on.

I mentioned white board earlier, you can also buy a Blueboard which finish provides both water and mold resistance.

Soundboard is made from wood fibers to increase the sound rating, if this does not fit your needs you may want to look into a laminated drywall made with gypsum mixed with other materials which significantly increase the Soundproofing the room.

If you are interested in going Green, you will want to look into Enviroboard and this is a board made from Recycled materials.

Lead-lined drywall board is used around radiological equipment.

All these options sound great right? Yes, but most of these drywall selections you will never have a need for.

For those of us who like loud music, practicing music instruments, working out of your garage and still like keeping your neighbors good grace there are some things you will want to do. First thing is you will need to find a contractor willing to work with soundproof materials. Not every contractor will be willing to work with soundproof materials since they tend to be a bit more work.

If you are wanting to sound proof a room in your house or business you would be wise to count the time you will spend, the cost of the project and any other added expenses you may occur for such a project. Counting the cost ahead of time you may determine to go a different route.

If you do not want to spend the extra of Soundproof Drywall there are is other simple house hold projects you can do to help with and sound issues you may have in your home.

*Non hardening Caulk will help to fill in any cracks you have. Filling in cracks and holes help prevent sound from escaping out of the specific area. Another benefit to Caulking, it will save you money on your monthly electric bill if you think about it, if sound can escape then so can air, the air you are paying for. You can caulk where needed around baseboards, windows, inside closets etc.

Although caulking will not soundproof your house or room this is an excellent way to reduce unwanted noise.

*You can also look into carpet or large area rugs to catch noise.

*What kind of insulation do you have in your home? There are various insulation solutions you can look into.

All these suggestions are not for looking to completely soundproof a room, house, or office but are great ways to reduce unwanted noise, as well as saving you money in the long run.
