Adding Texture to your walls | What texture to choose

Wall Texture is what adds personality to the room.
Texture hides imperfections on the wall. Texturizing the wall is the final finish coat. You will want to help protect your textured walls by applying several coats of paint to the textured walls.

There are several kinds of texture to choose from. If you are not going to be doing your own work, why is it necessary to know what kind of texture to choose? That is a good question with a very simple answer. As mentioned earlier texture gives your walls personality, what kind of personality you want your walls to have is up to you. Picking the right texture is as important as picking the right color for your walls or the decorations that hang on those walls.

Brocade texture is a very common texture used. This is a knock down method. The knock down method is where heavy texture is sprayed to the wall, they let the sprayed texture is let settled for a bit then with a special plastic knock down plastic knife the texture is smoothed out.

Another common texture is orange peel. This is a fine sprayed texture and gives a very non abrasive look.

Hand Texture is a heavier finish. Mud is applied to a special knife and is skipped a long the wall. With a hand texture you can give your wall many different looks including a Tuscan look if that is the direction you are going with in your house.
